Beyond the Noise: The Quest for True Wisdom
Some say that time brings greater wisdom. While I would hope this to be true for everyone, my life I've witnessed wars, deaths, hunger, and poverty. So, what kind of wisdom are we discussing?
Humanity is meant to evolve and dominate the world. Yet, we are often condemned to work for most of our lives, many in roles they dislike or that fail to provide a sense of self-fulfillment. Some people appear happy, while others spend their entire working lives lamenting low salaries, injustices, or simply their bosses and colleagues. In fact, there are individuals who we might categorize as "complaintaholics." Remember all of Anakin Skywalker’s whining about the council’s and Obi Wan’s mistrust?
It is true that as we age, we gain experience and knowledge. However, wisdom arises only when we have processed the knowledge we have acquired. To shape this knowledge into wisdom, we need values that help us set boundaries and guide us toward truth.
Quoting the White Widow from “Mission Impossible 7”, I assert that “the world is changing. The truth is vanishing.”
This presents a problem, doesn’t it? If the truth is disappearing, what will remain?
The rational conclusion is not that truth vanishes; rather, we grow distant from it.
In our world, things can seem a bit quantum. We are taught to accept everyone’s opinions, life choices, and actions. It’s a lot of noise all around us. Even so, speaking freely can be considered discriminatory, leading to labels like racist, conservative, fanatic, narrow-minded - or simply boring! Perhaps silence would be the safest option, no?
Dear reader, silence is not an option for many. However, I propose that we stop listening to the labels some create for those who accept the truth. Instead, we should stand for what we believe in. Last I checked, we’re still free to unplug our ears!
We must believe in something, right? Truth exists independently; it is not a human invention. This gives us the assurance that it can be trusted, no matter what kind of world we are shaping for future generations.
